Afghan-Edinburgh Collaboration is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and a registered Scottish charity (Charity No. SC055076↗).
We are a community-based charity working primarily with the Afghan community in Edinburgh and surrounding areas. Many members of our community have recently settled in Scotland, bringing with them strong educational backgrounds, professional experience, and rich cultural heritage.
While some individuals may face barriers to participation in community life, employment pathways, and access to services, we focus on unlocking potential, strengthening inclusion, and supporting people to build confident and independent lives in Scotland.
Our work is designed to:
- Strengthen community connections
- Support integration and wellbeing
- Promote education and lifelong learning
- Encourage volunteering and active citizenship
- Create opportunities for participation in sport and recreation
These outcomes are delivered through the services and activities outlined in the “Our Services” section.
While our primary focus is the Afghan community, many of our activities are open to the wider public, promoting inclusion, mutual understanding, and stronger community relationships across Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
